Michele Amatrula

Michele Amatrula is an artist and illustrator whose work has graced some of this country's finest publications. Spanning a broad array of disciplines, her oil paintings have been featured as book covers, magazine illustrations and postage stamps. Ms. Amatrula's dramatic black and white renderings have appeared regularly in the New York Times for a wide array of clients. Since graduating Parson's School of Design in the 1980's, Michele has made a name for herself as a realist. Her work is held in several collections across the country.Most recently, one of Michele’s portraits received the 2006 International Portrait Competition’s Certificate of Excellence. Another of her paintings took first place at the 2006 19th Contmeporary American Dog Art Competition. She won the Nora Roth Memorial Award from the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club. She also has been recognized as the best pet artist by “Dan’s Paper’s” in 2004 and was the recipient of the RWA’s 2002 and 2003 Artemis Awards.
