Garin Baker
Garin graduated from Pratt Institute in 1983 with a BFA in Fine Arts. Traditionally trained as a realist painter, Garin's work shows passionate engagement with a variety of contemporary subjects that include large New York cityscapes filled with bustling people to spacious rural landscapes reminiscent of the Hudson Valley River School of Painting.
Garin teaches life painting at The School of Visual Arts in New York City. Garin, his wife Jerilyn, and their two children, Harrison and Amanda, moved from New York City to upstate New York a few years ago. They are renovating a historic stone carriage house and barn into a home, art school, gallery, and studio space.
