Sophie Blackall

Sophie Blackall grew up in Australia and moved to New York on a whim (with her amenable husband and indifferent small children) in 2000. Since then she has worked for many magazines and newspapers and illustrated nine animated tv commercials for Persil in the UK. She is the illustrator of several books for children, including Ruby's Wish, Meet Wild Boars, Ivy and Bean, Red Butterfly and What's So Bad About Being an Only Child? Her interests include cabinets of curiosities, high school yearbooks and rotten old dolls.
