John Dyess
When John Dyess was a boy he wanted a career,at various times, as an actor, archeologist, painter or illustrator. Since he could draw and paint well and with the encouragement of his high school teacher,he decided to become an illustrator.
After graduating from the School of Art at Washington University in St.Louis he proceeded to work,as a civilian, for the U.S.Air Force creating art,as an illustrator for one of the last illustration studios in St.Louis (Bob Ruether and Associates), as an illustrator for a motivation company (Maritz) whose clients were many of the major corporations in the United States and Europe.
Since 1980 John has been owner of John Dyess Illustration and since 2005 Studio Dyess. After fifty years of professional experience John Is still trying to figure out what he wants to do when he grows up. John Thinks of the visual art he has created as a cabinet with many drawers which are full of many ways of seeing.
John will be opening a new drawer monthly to share examples of his past work.
