Michael Hortens
I create lively, colorful and attractive illustrations for the advertising, corporate and publishing industries. I am experienced laying out lines of books (children's and young adult readers) e.g. 20 books for the publisher Andrews-McMeel. Toy and food packaging and magazines are other clients that use my services. Icons and maps of mine were used on recent Heinz and Kimberly-Clark Annual Reports. My office is located at 36 Street and Madison Avenue in New York City. A written description of the assignment for a new project along with a fee is sent to clients before I start any project. Much of my work is done when a quick turnaround time is required. I am the son of an illustrator, Walter Hortens, so I have been around the illustration/design business all my life. My wife and I live on the banks of the Hudson River in Nyack, New York where we going sailing whenever we can.
