Ismael Roldan "I drew my first caricature at age 12. I haven't been able to draw a straight portrait again. I can go as far in the exageration as people allow me to. My main influence in caricature has been the work of David Levine but I also look at the draughtsmanship of 19th century artists Daumier,Ingres and Prud'hon for inspiration. I received my BFA degree in Illustration from Parsons School of Design in New York and have been sharpening my eyes and pencils ever since, always trying to capture the essence of my subjects without losing their likeness". |
