Cliff Spohn Born in Portland Oregon a long time ago. Graduated from San Jose State University California in 1973. Did work for various design studios and ad agencies. Created all the art for the original Atari Game boxes. Apple instruction covers, Del Monte foods posters and placards, posters for Memorex and various electronic magazine covers. Gameday covers and various portraits and magazine spreads for the NFL. Annually (for 18 years) painted sport legends for Seagram's 7 collectable mirror series. Created a series of limited edition baseball prints for Decathlon. Various painting projects for Readers Digest and TV Guide magazine and also USA Today. Painted collectable plates for the Bradford exchange. Children's books for Random House Publishers. Several different projects for MBI (Danbury Mint) which are still on going. A series of portraits (38) of noted African Americans for Black Heritage. A variety of portraits and projects for Harcourt School Publishers. Several series of Sports paintings for Topps and Upper deck trading cards. There is much more work sprinkled through out all this, too numerous to mention. Due to the nature of the business and the artist, eclecticism satisfies my creative challenges. Now resides in Shelton Connecticut with his artist wife and they have two grown artistic daughters. |
