Hugh Syme
HUGH SYME spent much of his time growing up in Sunderland, England, after
which he attended York University and the New School Of Art, Toronto, in his
native Canada.
Although Hugh began as a traditional painter, working in acrylics or oils on
canvas, his media of choice in recent years has been both digital and
traditional. By combining traditionally illustrated elements,
three-dimensional, photography and digital illustration, Hugh is able to
fashion a world of"improbable realism" with startling detail and seamless
credibility.
Hugh has designed and produced over 300 album packages for musicians such
as Rush, Aerosmith, Def Leppard, Queensryche, Supertramp, Whitesnake,
Celine Dion, Charlotte Church and many others. He has received
nine Juno Awards for Best Album Cover and three People's Choice Awards,
Canada for Best Album Cover.
When not spending time with his wife and three young daughters, Hugh enjoys
composing, arranging and recording in his 64 track digital studio.
