Mark Ulriksen

Mark Ulriksen is an illustrator and artist with a wide range of clients and subject matter. A regular contributor to The New Yorker, where he has published 22 covers, Ulriksen has also illustrated covers for Time, Newsweek Japan, Fortune Asia, The Atlantic Monthly, The Utne Reader and The New York Times Magazine among others. Whether his paintings portray people or dogs, illustrate weighty or witty subjects, Ulriksen's distinctive style has been recognized in many juried competitions, such as American Illustraton (annuals # 8, 10, 13-23), The Society of Illustrators ( Gold medal 2003, Silver medal 2002) and Communication Arts (annuals 1995-1999, 2001-2004) where he was profiled in the May/June 1997 issue. Ulriksen's first illustrated children's book, "Dog Show" by Elizabeth Winthrop, Henry Holt Publishers, will come out in September, 2004.
